How to Request or Place Holds on Library Materials

1.  Go to Slater Public Library website at www.slaterlibrary.org

2.  Click on “Catalog”.

3.  Click on “Slater Public Library” to access our catalog.

4.  Click on “Create Account” if this is your first time visiting. If you already have an account, click on “Log In” and enter your username and password. If you can’t remember your username, we can look that up and you can reset your password.

5.  Enter your last name and barcode. Your barcode is your patron number which can be found on your library card (it begins with a “P” followed by a number) OR call us and we can look it up. After entering, click on “Next”.

6.  You can now create your username and password. After entering, click on “Save”.

7.  Once your account is created you will see your name in the top right of the screen and you will be able to search our catalog.

8.  For example, searching our catalog for “Frozen” brought up several results. When looking at the results it will tell you if the item is available now or if it is checked out. If checked out, you can still put a hold on the item and you will be next in line to receive this item.

9.  To place a hold, click on the item you would like.

10.  Now click on “Hold It”. A confirmation screen will appear next. If you want to place a hold on multiple items, you will go back to step #7 and repeat.
